  • WOW. So I was going through my hard drive trying to delete shiet that I don't use anymore...and what do I find? My AIM Logs. WOW. It's so funny reading past conversations that I've had with people...the randomness..the good times.

Living with roomates for the last 6 years, often we'll just hop onto a computer that's just laying around and just use it real quick to print something out, check our email, or to just AIM someone. Funny thing is...their messages get stored in my AIM logs too. Ok, you may be thinking that it may be invasion of privacy by reading their logs too, but HEY. That's what you get for using my property. All rights go to ME. With that said, I learned some useful information that I surely won't forget. How dare you talk about someone using their own computer?! WTF right. Officially BLACK LISTED. I know that probably doesn't mean much to that person...it's not like we were ever even "friends" to begin with anyway. HMMPH!

On a better note...I'm going to COSTA RICA with my FABULOUS sisters in DECEMBER! Ahhhhhh...finally a VACATION!

  • I'm totally voting this year.

LBN-POLITICAL COMMENTARY BY MIKE MEDAVOY: I was an early supporter of Bill Clinton and Gary Hart because I believed those individuals, at that particular time, embodied what I felt were requirements to lead this country.  Among the many things they talked about was National Service required of all people at age 18, with no deferments.  I still believe that this ought to be a requirement.  We are at probably the most dangerous moment of our history since the beginning of World War II.  It therefore requires an extraordinary individual who will be a President for all the people, be it Republicans or Democrats -- a President who deals with people's feelings and thoughts and will bring out the best in all of us.  We want a President who is curious.  We're looking for leaders who, in a changing global world driven by technology and the internet and threats of asymmetrical warfare with the potential to blow us all to pieces, will guide us wisely and without arrogance and hubris.  We need leaders who realize that we live in a world in which instant images are broadcast simultaneously all over the world so that no one can get away with behaving inhumanely.  We are all interdependent.  We want the people of this nation to be proud to be Americans, led by a President that deals with the world humanely.  We need a President that sees us as human beings and that we feel secure has an understanding of human suffering.  We want our flag waving, not hitting people in the face.  We need a president, moreover, who recognizes the world for what it is.  It is an oftentimes dangerous world and not all of the people in it are nice, sweet and benevolent.  It is the nature of man to behave otherwise and we must find leaders who can show us a better way and still maintains a balanced view.  This person, in anybody's estimation, must be a leader who leads by example, who is above politics and special interests, and who knows that our future and our children's future now hang in the balance.  There is not much trust these days in either the Congress or the White House or, for that matter, in institutions such as the press.  We have to find someone who comes closest to our ideals, knowing full-well that there is no perfection.  We need someone who can give us back our faith in our leadership.  I've always felt that this kind of leadership requires somebody who can build a consensus.  We know that not everyone will agree with everything, but the American People have always stood up in times of crisis.  This, in my opinion, is just such a time.  We need people to vote and be a part of the process and the solution in order to operate as a credible democracy.  Our problems lie not only in the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan, but also the health care system, the educational system and the need for the reinvigoration of the family, among many other issues.  All of these require that each of us sacrifice something and to give up the need for the quick buck.  The ultimate reward is a fair society for all the people.  We are a nation of immigrants bonded by a common goal - to leave our world a better place than the way we found it.  That is what our forefathers lived and died for and that is our obligation to our children and our children's children.  We need to be led by a group of men and women as enlightened as our forefathers were, such as Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and F.D.R.  That tall order requires me personally to pause, despite my faith in the friendship that I have with a number of the people running, because I know it's probably the most important decision I will ever have to make.  Not a big deal, but big enough for me.

Let it be big enough for you too.

  • So I attribute my disconnect from the world to my crazy so-called life. I am soooo ready just to take a step back and breathe. Now that I think of it...I haven't taken a breath since my freshman year in high school. Never one moment of just doing NOTHING. Never one moment of not having to rush somewhere, to take care of something, running an errand, running to work, going to a meeting, planning an event. And where does that leave me? Fullfilled, yet coming to the realization that I've become the business. It's hard to just let go and just be me without any associations- without being President, without being Coordinator, without being Business Analyst. People see me as the business and see the hectic life I live, but not necessarily the person I truly am. So what happens when you've disconnected from the world? People start asking, "So what have you been up to?" And the response usually is just...

    "You know the usual- WORK."

I want to have time to leave MySpace comments.
I want to have time to keep my IPOD up to date.
I want to have time to pick up my dry-cleaning.
I want to not have to "check my schedule" and have to "pencil you in".
I want to have time to read the stack of books that are piling up next to my bed.
I want to have time to upload pictures from my digital camera.
I want to have time to take an actual vacation instead of weekend trips.
I want to have time to go to the gym on a regular basis.
I want to have the time to sell something on Ebay.
I want to have the time to enjoy the day between the hours of 9am-7pm.
I want to get home at a reasonable hour of the night and actually cook dinner.
I want to work an 8 hour day and not feel bad for taking a full hour for lunch.
I want to have time to visit Thao in San Diego.

As Suzie Orman said on her late night channel 6 show: "You cant be generous to others unless you know how to be generous to yourself."

I'm ready to start being generous and enjoying my OWN life.

  • Even though not everyone is Christian, and not everyone celebrates Christmas why must people make such a big deal when it comes to being political correct about not saying Merry Christmas? Why say happy holidays? Holiday = Holy Day. Still CHRISTIAN!

Really, there would be no day off to spending time with family- if it wasn’t CHRISTMAS. So even if you don’t believe in Jesus, you can still celebrate what Christmas represents- giving, spending time with the ones you love, and renewal.

I’m not trying to be insensitive to those who don’t are not Christian, but honestly, I’m tired of being corrected to be political correct. I am Catholic, proud, and if I want to say Merry Christmas, I’ll say Merry Christmas. It offends ME that I can’t openly celebrate Christmas- a key day that represents my religion. If you’re Jewish and want to wish me a Happy Hanukah, then go right ahead! And if you’re not religious, then wish me a “Happy non-denominational special winter day”. But please don’t correct me if I- in all good spirits- want to wish you a Merry Christmas.

It makes me really think- sometimes trying to be so open minded can make you close minded.

By the way, if you’re going adamant about being non-religious, you might as rename the following Holidays as well:

    - Valentine’s Day is really SAINT Valentine’s Day: How about “Happy love day” – Do we really need a holiday to show our love only on one day of the year?

    - SAINT Patrick’s Day = “Happy Green Beer Day” – Do we really have a holiday just to drink beer, eat corned beef, and cabbage?

    - Easter = “Happy Bunny Day” – Do we really have a national holiday to celebrate bunnies?

WITH THAT SAID..MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL AND YOUR FAMILIES.

About Me

  • I am an upbeat girl from the OC. I am a recent graduate of UCI and am currently working for a small software company. I love to dance, sing REALLY loud in the car when I am alone, eat JOElatti's Italian Ice, shop online at IKEA, attempt to organize my room, write upcoming events in my planner, read Chick Novels (and Harry Potter), play Solitaire when I'm supposed to be doing work, and spending time with loved ones. I would like to describe myself as sophisticated fun but everyone has their "moments". Maybe I'll just put some of those moments in my xanga...
